Honda Hybrid is Number One Selling Car in Japan

Honda Insight has won the number one rank, of being the top selling car in the month of April in Japan. This is the first time ever that a Hybrid car has taken the number one spot. The Honda Insight was billed as the cheapest gas-electric hybrid on the market, and this certainly has done the trick. Honda sold 10,481 Insight cars in April in Japan this was released by the Japan Automobile Dealers Association on Monday (10th May, 2009).

The Honda Insight costs 1.89 million yen ($19,000) in Japan, where it went on sale in February and $19,800 in the U.S. where it is starting to arrive in showrooms. But Honda is not the only one the market which is sailing with a hybrid flag, Toyota which are their rivals. Toyota is planning to launch the revamped version of the best selling hybrid car in the world, the Prius. Lets see how the competition builds. May the best company win :)
