BMW Smart Fabric Technology for Future Cars

In Polytechnic School of Montreal, Canada researchers have developed a polymer-based fiber which is flexible and that can be woven into existing fabrics. The fabric is simply amazing, as it can do wonders plus it be easily washed just as you wash a normal piece of cloth.

It acts a capacitive pad which can register your gestures and touch when an alternative current is passed through it. These might be technical terms for you, keeping it simple; just imagine you touching the dashboard and it opens up without holding it out or anything. This is what this fabric is going to do, by simply just touching on the fabric; certain functions could be performed very easily.
